Kylie Walker in fine finish

Scotland's Kylie Walker matched her best result on the Ladies' European Tour and all but made sure of retaining her card for next season by finishing tied for eighth in the Suzhou Taihu Ladies' Open in Shanghai.

The Buchanan Castle rookie fired a final-round 73 for three under par and she finished just two shots outside a title play-off. Four players tied on five under par, with South African Lee-Anne Pace claiming victory with a birdie at the second extra hole.

Musselburgh's Vikki Laing, who has two seconds this year, finished a stroke behind Walker in joint 12th after a last-day 74. The result lifted her to eighth in the Order of Merit, where she is the top Scot with around 100,000. Walker, 24, has risen five places to No.67 on the Merit list after a great second half to her first season as a professional.

Carly Booth, the 18-year-old from Comrie in Perthshire, was the third Scot to make the cut and she hit a closing 74 for a three-over-par total and a share of 41st place. This was Pace's fifth victory in five months. She leads the Order of Merit with 265,000 from England's Laura Davies.
