Lloyd Saltman banks 13-stroke win in Spain

LLOYD Saltman will want to get back on the European Tour in a hurry after destroying a decent field to record a 13-stroke victory in the Hacienda De Alamo Open.

The 25-year-old, who was eight shots clear going into the final round, didn't let up as he signed off with a 66 for a 21-under-par total of 195.

It was a staggering performance on the Hi5 Tour in a third-tier event which, on this occasion, also contained some useful English players in joint runner-up James Hepworth, Jamie Abbott and Matt Cryer.

After going 44 holes without dropping a shot, Saltman stumbled to a double-bogey 5 at the short 15th but then had two eagles in his last three holes.

Both his brothers also finished in the top ten Elliot signing off with a 69 to tie for fourth on seven-under, two shots ahead of Zack, the youngest of the siblings, who closed with a 69 to record one of his best performances in the paid ranks.

The Hi5 Tour moves on to El Valle next week but only Zack is entered for that event.
