Paul Di Resta's big adventure

PAUL di Resta is ready for "a real adventure" in Montreal in a bid to make up for his disappointment in Monaco.

Di Resta admitted he was "too ambitious" around the streets of Monte Carlo in a bid to make up places and land in the points.

The Scot made a move on Jaime Alguersuari in his Toro Rosso at the Loews hairpin and not only damaged the nose of his Force India, but also incurred a drive-through penalty for causing a collision.

That resulted in him finishing 12th and he is determined to make amends in this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix.

Di Resta said: "I felt disappointed. We seemed to be quite competitive, and I think I missed a chance to score some points for the team. It would be good to get back in the points this weekend and that's what I'll be aiming for."

But Di Resta has never raced on the Canadian track and the 25-year-old admitted: "This race will be a real adventure for me.

"The priority will be to get up to speed as quickly as possible and learn the track. On paper it looks like quite a straightforward circuit with long straights and chicanes, but you never truly know a circuit until you drive it. My preparation has included some time on the simulator, and it's clearly quite an unusual circuit where you need good top speed to be competitive.

"So we run a special low-downforce package, which will be quite a new experience for me. I will need to get used to that."
