Rangers star Steven Davis resists treble yell

STEVEN DAVIS admits Rangers are now having to fight the urge to get carried away by the thought of a domestic treble this season.

The Ibrox side already have the Co-operative Insurance Cup final against this weekend's opponents St Mirren to look forward to later in the month and also remain in contention to retain the Active Nation Scottish Cup.

More importantly, the Scottish champions' hopes of holding onto the league title have also been given a massive boost following last week's dramatic 1-0 Old Firm derby triumph.

"Everybody keep saying that it's still early days in terms of the three trophies but we're in a great position at the moment," admitted Davis. "We're in one final, we have to play Dundee United in the Scottish Cup and we're in a good position in the league.

"But we all know that things can change quickly in football so it's important that we just keep picking up results and try to keep the dream alive. It could be quite easy to get carried away and that's why I think we just need to pull on the reins a little bit."
