Table tennis: Atkins has diet of success
David ATKINS was the star performer, winning his three singles matches, as North Merchiston took a major step towards claiming the Edinburgh table tennis league title by beating rivals Murrayfield 8-2 last night.
Team-mates Willie Mabon and Stewart Armitage were also in fine form as both contributed two wins while Murrayfield's 16-year-old captain Colin Dalgleish won over Edinburgh Open champion Willie Mabon.
