Watsonians coach Marcus Di Rollo is preparing his men for the forthcoming battle to retain their top flight status. And the Myreside men will go into that challenge in decent spirits after taking a four try bonus point from their 39-30 defeat at home to Dundee High.

Andrew Porter touched down twice and there was one score apiece for Jamie Forbes and Stuart McInally, while Mike Ker and Andrew Skeen shared the kicking duties to contribute the remaining points for 'Sonians.

One of the eight sides challenging for the four Division One berths is Edinburgh Accies, who clicked into gear to demolish near neighbours Stewart's Melville 69-8. Skipper Dan Teague led the way with two of the Raeburn Place men's ten tries with the others from Jamie Sole, Mike Campbell, Greg Campbell, Andy Lamb, Johnny McSorley, Matt Coupar, Sam Atkin and Ruaridh Bonner who was also on target with eight conversions and a penalty. Richard Borthwick touched down for StewMel and Stuart Ker landed a penalty.

In Division Three, both Musselburgh and Haddington were on the road, and both returned nursing defeats. 'Burgh were in contention at the break, trailing Whitecraigs 16-13, but the Stoneyhill men were swept aside in the second half, eventually going down 35-19.

Meanwhile, Haddington were on the wrong end of a 42-8 scoreline away to Ardrossan Accies.
